About Us
The Pedestrian Shops is a local, family owned business. Born in Boulder in 1969, we have been providing Coloradans with comfortable, fashionable footwear for over 50 years.
We currently operate three Colorado stores and this website, comfortableshoes.com. Our largest, flagship store is located on Boulder's famous Pearl St. Mall. This location also houses our corporate offices. Our second Boulder store is located in the Village shopping center at Folsom and Arapahoe. A favorite with Boulder locals, this store offers a parking lot right out front. Our newest location is in Denver, right between Downtown and LoHi in the growing Confluence Park area.
We pride ourselves on offering the World's Most Comfortable Brands of Shoes and excellent customer service, and try to make the world a better place while we're doing it.
Our community is important to us. We support a wide variety of non profits, events, and schools in Boulder and Denver. We also hold two shoe drives each year (around Earth Day and Thanksgiving) to directly help our neighbors in need.
The environment is also important to us. We strive to reduce our carbon footprint in a variety of ways including:
- We use recycled boxes to ship our internet orders whenever possible
- We own and operate a 10kw solar array that generates half of our Pearl St store's energy needs
- We recycle and compost as much as possible
- We encourage our staff to walk, bike, or utilize public transportation
